A Study of the School Attendance Area in Primary School |
| Abstract |
In case that the public elementary school district is estabilished in Korea, 'one school district-one school system' is selected uniformally throughout the whole nation.It is regarde that 'one school district-one school system' contributes to the principle of equality in education, but a sudden change of social structure raise various problems.In particular, an over-population phenomenon at the downtown area, caused by an apartment hosing formation of a large scale, makes a scale of school to be large.On the otherhand, educational facilities of good and sufficient quality is not supplied satisfactorily and so various problems, like a deterioration of an educational environment, are indicated. On the phenomanon of the downtown area, population of farming and mountain communities decrease and residents move out, which raise a lot of ploblems that many school have to be closed.In order to decide school district, applying 'one school district-one school system' to all over the country uniformally involves various proplems really.To begin with, this research brings to a focus on the followings:1) The actual condition and problems of a range of attending school.2) Correspondence of children's life sphere and rang of behavior with school district.3) Correspondence of local residents's life sphere with school district which raise various problems in case of planning the elemantary school district at the downtown area.Furthermore, we purpose to analyze and inquire into the present situation of school district and its role and problems by examining the previous three items. At the same time, we intend to present some alternative proposals.On this paper, as a part of study, we inquire into the standard of facilities and grasp the present situation by examining into the basis of law related to school district and the present situation of elementary school facilities. |
