Abstract The two seperate eigenvalues(the elastic critical load and natural frequency) of plane frames are calculated by means of finite element methods. The plane frame models that selected for this study are regular 1-bay, 2-bays-5-bay(maximum 10 story) and irregular frames of 3-bay(all 3 story).Two loading conditions are considered; In the first case,the loads P are applied at the top of each story and in the second case, the loads P are applied only at the top of the frames.The ralatioship between two eigenvalues is established by changing the magnitude of axial thrust and computing the correspinding frequency change.
