A Study on Scholastic Meaning in Internal and External Space of French Gothic Architecture |
| Abstract |
Whereas Drost found that the fundmental meaning of pre-scholasticism and scholasticism were expressed in the form of Romanesque architecture and Gothic architecture respectively, Panofsky showed that there is analogy between the form of scholasticism and the form of the Gothic style. But there is not any comment concerning internal and external space of French Gothic architecture which two conceptions of scholasticism make an apperance.As a result of this study, an obvious fact that internal space of Gothic architecture have some connection with realistic conception of scholasticism and nominalistic conception was represented in external space of Gothic architecture, is revealed. |
