Abstract |
The intent of this study is to investigate the campus organizational issues, and to explore a way of providing the planning principles for a campus masterplan on the basis of a proper understanding of the hierarchical planning process. To help overcome the logical irrelevance of the common campus planning procedural steps, which was questioned in the previous article, the importance of the campus organizational issues is stressed. And four of them are suggested;these are relationship of campus to its external context, campus growth, mixture of functions, and development density and open space.A logical way of providing the planning principles for a compus masterplan is proposed, and that is a method of exploring possible generic options for each organiztional issue, selecting and combining them. |
