Cognitive Attribution of Alley Spaces |
| Abstract |
The positive and negative attributes of the urban spaces are once again shed light herewith at the neighborhood alley level in the urban residential area. In this paper, we will approach the residential alleys through the conception of `place-identity' which constitute cognitive-descriptive level, aesthetic level, normative social role related level, and level of concept of `home' which will be discussed later. This will be a new approach to the full understanding of the conception of `alley as a place' on the level of the urban design. A field survey was conducted through `questionnaire'along with college students group as a comparison group for the residents group. |
