Title |
A Study on the Arbitrariness from late 17th century to pre -modern architecture |
Abstract |
In the contemporary architecture, it seems to be the most charateristic phenomenon that the reference frame for generating architectural form has been determined by personal selection. This phenomenon is resulted from the rise of arbitrariness, which concept was proposed by Claude Perrault in late 17th centuty, intensfied by lingustist F.de Saussure. In this study, the concept of arbitrariness from late 17th centuty to pre-modern architectute is observed by contrast with that of universality. |
