Abstract A series of 10 full-scale concrete wall panel specimens was tested to assess their shear strength and failure behavior under concentric and eccentric compression. Test results of horizontal joints subjected to monotonic shear forces under various compressive forces are presented.Information on the characteristics of shear versus shear displacement, panel separation and slipage are obtained for each different combinations of compressive force.The purpose of this paper is to recomend the detail design of horizontal joints,through the investigation of the shear behavior of such joints under the stress states expected of precast concrete panel structures.
