Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate and evaluate the properties of silica fume concrete and the influence of silica fume types on them. Silica fume was used by 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, by weight of cement, in water-(cement+silica fume) ratio 0.4, 0.6. The workability of concrete becomes worse extremely with using of silica fume and the range is very wide by the types of silica fume, and the air content of concrete is varied by the types of silica fume. The compressive strength increases 20-40% by water-(cement+silica fume) ratio 0.4 and increases with increase of silica fume and the ratio of increase of tensile strength is lower than that of compressive strength. The static modulus of elasticity decrease with use of silica fume, but it is possible to improve it by using high quality of silica fume.
