A Study on the Analysis Model of the Spatial Structure in Urban Residential Area |
| Abstract |
This study is an investigation on the spatial structure of the urban residential area. Four different areas are selected for the case study. Similiarities and differences in the spatial structure of those areas are reviewed through following factors : form of site and settlement, access system, distribution of public facilites, form of space between house and street, and so forth.Based on the analysis, the interpretative model of the spatial structure consists of two major concepts, which are 'Hierarchy'; the part-whole relation, 'Class';composition of elements. This analysis model of the spatial structure can be extended to simulate more aspects of built environments and to guide for housing design and site planning. |
