A Study on the Folk Houses in the Central Region of Korea |
| Abstract |
The folk houses of the distorted ㅁ character type, whose An-chae(inner house) and Bakat-chae(outer) are arranged with An-Madang(courtyard) between, is the representative folk houses in the central region of Korea. This type seems to be designed as an intentional and idealistic arrangement form of the folk houses since the beginning. I especially paid regard to the following respects in this study on the spatial structure and scheme of the folk houses of the distorted ㅁ character type:1) What is the constitution between the inner house and the outer?2) What is the pattern of arrangement between the inner house, the outer, and the courtyard?3) What is the spatial scheme and characteristics of the courtyard and the dwelling space? |
