Title |
A Study on the Environmental Evaluation of Passive Solar Classrooms with attached sunspace |
Abstract |
The proposed passive solar classroom design concerns the indoor lighting effects, while utilizing the solar energy for space heating. Apart from the configurations of 1980 and 1982, the hallway was located on the south side of the classroom so that it could be served as an attached sunspace.Although the thermal performance of the proposed design might not be the best one, the overall environmental conditions could be significantly improved as the hallway serves as an effective buffer zone for direct gains and noise control. Especially the noise problem is highly improved by applying sound-absorbing materials on the walls and ceilings of the classroom |
