Title |
Indoor Air Temperature Distribution in a Floor Heating Space with PCM Panels |
Abstract |
This research is to investingate the use of a phase change material(Calcium chloride hexahydrate) for hydronic radiant floor heating. The SIMPLE (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure-Linked Equation) method was used to analyze two dimensional incompressible turbulent natural convection in a rectangular enclosure. Two identical unit test cells sized 1.8mW 1.8mL 1.8mH were built and installed with specially designed 1.6cmT 9cmW 80cmH aluminium Ondol-panels holding 1.25Kg of calcium chloride hexahydrate(CCH). Some deviation between numerical results and experimental ones resulted from a simplication of actual boundary conditions in theoretical application. In reality the boundary conditions including air infiltration were so complicated, however, the deviation would be negligible. A large turbulent flow due to natural convections was found in both right and left region of the indoor, and upward flows in the central region of the indoor also occurred. |
