Abstract In this paper, transition elements with three types are presented for the effective analysis of the connections of coupled shear wall and substructuring is applied to the repetitive blocks.Transition elements which are presented in this study solve incompatibility between wall and connecting beam. Also, these can be applied as the basic finite elements of substructuring. Furthermore, substructuring presents not only effective modeling in structures but also selective output for the external nodes of a substructure type.
