Abstract The evaluation of the wind environment around high rise buildings needs wind data. The hourly wind data over 10 years in Seoul obtainded from National Weather Service is analyzed (1981.1.1.~1990.12.31).In the spring the prevailing winds blow from the west, the average wind velocity is 2.9m/s. Summer winds are not as strong as those in the spring, they generally come from the northeast and the average wind velocity is 2.4m/s.The wind speeds tend to be relatively low in the morning(24:00~11:00: 1.9m/s) compared to the afternoon(12:00~23:00;3.05m/s).The probability distribution(weibull Distribution)is employed to predict the wind climate. The Weibull Coefficients C,K of west wind are 3.97(C),1.98(K).
