Abstract This paper is to present the performance data for the direct setting method of external cement brick wall tiling. For this purpose, direct setting method type 1 & 2 of external cement brick wall tiling were compared with the conventional setting methods (including direct setting method) of external concret wall tiling in the sight of the tensile strength, the shrinkage of tile, the currence of efflorescence and setting time through experiments. The major results results are as follows.1) On the basis of 28 day aged tensile strength, type 2-BW was the highest for the conventional setting methods except type 1-C & type 2-C.2) On the basis of maximum shrinkage of tile aged by 27 days, type1-BW was the lowest for external wall tiling. 3) The occurrence of CaCO3 of type2-BW was the second lowest for external wall tiling. 4) The setting time of typel-BW was the lowest for the conventional setting methods except typel-C & pressing method.
