Abstract |
In this paper, we modeled the offshore wind farm connected voltage source converter HVDC system. And we analyzed the problems occurring due to the grid fault. Due to the grid fault, it was found that the DC link voltage of HVDC system boosted instantaneously. To solve the problem, we proposed a strategy for controlling the DC link voltage of HVDC system. The proposed control strategy is to increase the DC link voltage of the wind generator, reducing the active power output of the wind generator. As a result, the DC link voltage of HVDC system is reduced. By applying the control strategy, it was possible to suppress the rise of the DC link voltage of HVDC system. In addition, it was possible to alleviate the fluctuation of the active power output of HVDC system. A simulation was conducted to verify the proposed strategy using the PSCAD/EMTDC. |
