Abstract |
Five-times rule considers the luminaire size and the distance between measurement point and luminaire which was applied to existing fluorescent luminaires. However, the study on the application of such a rule for LED luminaire has not been conducted yet. Therefore, the aim of this study is to find out suitability for the application of the Five-times rule in the LED luminaire. The flat type LED luminaire was selected for the lighting simulation because those luminaires have been used widely. To facilitate the discretization of the luminaire, the EECAL program was used as the lighting simulation software. The results of illuminance simulation for the accuracy validation did not show any trends of suitability for the application of Five-times rule when the luminaires with similar Lambertian luminous intensity distribution were used. |
