Abstract |
A SFCL(Superconducting Fault Current Limiter) which has zero impedance characteristic does not have power loss and limits fault current quickly, therefore it plays a rule as a protective equipment. In this paper, we analyzed fault current limiting characteristics and power burden of a flux-lock type SFCL. When fault current flows on this SFCL, the circuit making external magnetic field of this SFCL have an effect on high- superconducting element(HTSC) and resistance of the HTSC is changed. So, in this paper, we performed the short circuit tests to simulate many cases that the external magnetic field affects HTSC and conducted comparison analysis. After the experiment using a series resistance() connected to third winding circuit and a parallel resistance() connected to HTSC, we could predict the fault current limiting characteristics and power burden of the SFCL according to effect of external magnetic field. |
