Abstract |
In this paper, an illuminating optical lens for a marine lantern was designed with a diameter 14.0mm COB type LED. Optimal design of the lens geometry was derived by studying design variables of a TIR(Total Internal Reflection)-type lens for the lantern through the analytical methods. Primary parameters of the lens in the peripheral and the center geometry and maximum intensity and view angle have been optimized for the best beam distribution. The optimized lens has a diameter of 90mm, and a height of 60mm with the view angle of ± 5.8°(FWHM). Maximum intensity of the lens was 40,000cd with the optical efficiency of 96%. |
