Abstract |
The superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) using transformer can be designed to limit the fault current with twice quench occurrences. However, the voltage burdens and the current distributions of two high-TC superconducting elements (HTSCs) after twice fault current limiting operation are affected by the different ratios of two winding inductances. Moreover, the consumed power and the accumulated energy in two HTSC elements are contributed to the fault current limiting operation of the SFCL using transformer. In this paper, the voltage burden and the current distribution after HTSCs' quench comprising SFCL using transformer were analyzed due to the ratios of two winding inductances of the SFCL using transformer. As the inductance of the one secondary winding among two secondary windings increased, the consumed power and the accumulated energy in HTSC element connected to the other secondary winding was analyzed to be more increased compared to HTSC element connected to the one secondary winding through short circuit tests. |
