Abstract |
In this paper, we studied the optical characteristics of linear LED lamp by applying the asymmetric wide angle lens and diffuser cover to get the appropriate light distribution and uniform luminance. The set-up of design target for LED lamp, optical simulation for optimized arrangement of LED with the lens was performed, and the prototype was manufactured according to the optical design and then photometric measurements and comparative analysis on the optical characteristics between proto-type and commercial products were performed. As results of this study, the optical characteristics for the proto-types (2,255lm, 107lm/ and 2,376lm, 113lm/) were equal or superior to those of the commercial products when the asymmetric light directing angle lens was applied with LED spacing of 40mm and 35mm, the light distribution for Y-axis (160° and 180°) were significantly widened and the luminance uniformity was also improved from 41.3% and 48.7% to 74.3% and 80.4%, respectively. |
