Abstract |
This paper proposes a 4 LEG interleaved bi-directional DC / DC converter system for battery charging and discharging in a DC microgrid applied to a ship. The proposed 4-leg DC/DC converter can reduce the size of the reactor and power semiconductor device by a factor of four, reducing the size of the system. Also, the proposed topology achieves the effect of quadrupling the switching frequency compared with the conventional converter through the 90 degree phase shift method. This not only increases the efficiency of the system as a whole, but also reduces the current ripple in accordance with the charging and discharging of the battery, so that the life of the secondary battery can be suppressed. In this paper, a high efficient 50kW ESS converter system for load sharing of DC ship was proposed and its validity was verified through simulation and experiment. |
