Abstract |
This paper presents a DC electromagnetic pump designed and analyzed in order to reduce the volume of AC electromagnetic pump. The DC electromagnetic pump is composed of primary and secondary part. The primary part was composed of the core and coil. The secondary part is composed of the conductive liquid metal and the electrodes. The DC electromagnetic pump is designed to satisfy the flow rate 40, which is same as in AC electromagnetic pump. With the designed DC electromagnetic pump, the fluid system is analyzed to find the characteristics of the liquid metal; the velocity and the flow rate of the liquid metal. As a result of the design and analysis, the volume of DC electromagnetic pump is reduced to 45% compared to AC electromagnetic pump for the flow rate 40. |
