Abstract |
Induction generator has many advantages rather than the synchronous generator in terms of price and maintenance. Therefore, induction generators are mainly applied to power plants around 1000㎾. The induction generator generates a high inrush current in the grid connection. This high inrush current causes a voltage drop in the grid system or other load facility in the premises. The high current generated during the direct start of the induction motor can be reduced by using a reactor, which can be applied to induction generators. In this study, we analyzed the inrush current and voltage drop when a 2,000㎾ induction generator was connected to a section of a distribution line. In order to maintain the voltage drop within a certain allowable range, a reactor start method was applied and it was confirmed that the voltage fluctuation was kept within the allowable range. |
