Abstract	This paper proposes a 72W power supply for the controlling and power semiconductor driving of a sub-module which is the basic unit of HVDC(High Voltage Direct Current) transmission system. The proposed power supply is a self-power supply using the DC link of the sub-module as the input source and it can operate in the wide input voltage range of 600∼3,000V. Usefulness of the proposed self-power supply is verified with the simulation and experimental results.
