Abstract Wide use of non-linear loads such as power conversion device have led to harmonics generation according to the development of industry. In this paper, a technique for predicting the harmonics generation at the evaluation points before new EHV customer's grid connection. And a method for estimating the harmonics voltage level on a bus that is assumed to be a new customer's grid connection. First, the harmonic generation library is created through the harmonic measurement, and the application of the library to the load of the new customer can be used to estimate the harmonic generation amount of the new customer before the electricity supply. Also It is also possible to estimate the harmonic voltage level of the system using the estimated harmonic generation amount and impedance information of the customers connected to the system including the new customer. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulation.
