Abstract In the case of controlling a plant with a nonlinear model, it is common to linearize the entire model. If not possible, it selects an operating point and obtains a linearization model at the operating point. If the linearization model is not obtained, it is difficult to select an appropriate PID coefficient value when the PID controller is selected as the controller of the corresponding plant. In this paper, we propose a method to find the effective PID coefficient value by observing the control output value of this nonlinear model. In order to verify the validity of this method, MATLAB simulation and experimental results are presented simultaneously.
