Abstract |
Wide use of non-linear loads such as power conversion device has led to harmonics generation according to the development of industry plant. In this paper, the current harmonics mitigation using a Shunt Active Power Filter(SAPF) based on a Modular Multilevel Converter(MMC) is studied for a load acting as a typical current harmonic source in the power plant high voltage bus. SAPF was designed using p-q theory and d-q proportional-integral(PI) current controller to generate reference value and the compensation current, and controller and the harmonic compensation characteristics were verified by simulation. Current harmonic generation in the power plant high voltage bus was measured and the case study was selected. The effect of current harmonic mitigation was verified by installing the manufactured 6.9kV 200A SAPF on site. |
