Abstract Lighting technique using IoT is assessed as an innovative technology which makes possible mutual communication between lighting and a person, and this technique is a lighting system which actively responds by recognizing a user's situation. Such a technique is in need of diverse presentation changes based on the discomfort glare index by presentation changes should be preceded. This study assessed the discomfort glare consequent on presentation characteristics(lighting area and space illuminance), and fatigue caused by discomfort glare, and the assessment results are as follows: The index rating in time of presentation changes was found to be in the most stable scope between the same illuminance presentations, and to be in the permissible scope mostly in the presentation, in which the luminance ratio of a light source was low between presentations. Therefore, care is required in the use of large area & low illuminance by following presentation when creating a lighting environment by a dynamic change, and design should be considered within the scope of similar space illuminance between presentations. The later research on lighting presentation changes should be developed into complex researches consequent on relations with background illuminance, and light source arrangement characteristics.
