Abstract |
A design method for ultra compact and high uniformity illumination modules for mobile projectors with based on high power laser diodes is described. The design goal is to achieve a system size of < 60mm(H) × 60mm(V), illuminance uniformity more than 95% at 0.7 field and a luminous flux more than 100lm on the final projection area. In order to satisfy the system size, the initial design of the optical components constituting the illumination optical system based on the geometrical optics theory was carried out. To satisfy the illuminance uniformity and the light flux on the projection area, using a optical design S/W(LightTools). The illumination module with optimized designs has a small system size of 55mm(H) × 44mm(V), and the incident beam on the panel has a uniform illuminance distribution of 96% at 0.7 field, and the beam incident on the projection lens had the final result of 160lm. |
