Abstract |
Corona discharge causes dielectric breakdown of insulator, but this is also studied to apply for printing electrical properties on the outside of the high voltage cable. Corona discharge has been used to modify surface treatment for better printing on the outside of polyethylene cable which is used for high voltage insulator. This has a purpose to provide basic knowledge for evaluating low density and high density polyethylene surface safety by measuring contact angle from the surface which depends on change of polyethylene film feed rate and power supply, and by measuring SEM and tensile strength. As result of the test, the slower film speed and the higher input power brings lower contact angle and improved wettability. There was little change on tensile strength by corona discharge and no effect on internal physical properties. |
