Abstract |
A 3-phase squirrel cage induction motor is widely used as generator that is analyzed using equivalent circuit of an induction motor. In conventional analyses, an equivalent circuit not considering iron loss is used. However, the analysis not considering iron loss produces errors in analysis results. In this paper, various characteristics of a 3-phase squirrel cage induction generator considering iron loss are analyzed. Errors due to neglect of iron loss in variables such as input, output, slip, torque, and efficiency are presented. In addition, rated values of generator considering the rated current of motor are presented and errors not considering iron loss at rated condition are investigated. |
