Abstract |
In this paper, the 150-W LED non-sparking explosion-proof flood lighting was studied for the use of industrial hazardous areas of zone 2. At first, thermal management and fixture design were executed, and then prototype of the luminaire was fabricated. Finally measured lighting and explosion-proof characteristics were analyzed. The weight of the fabricated prototype was 5.0kg. It was measured to be 20,250lm of total luminous flux, 135lm/W of luminous efficiency, 80 of CRI and 5,700K of CCT at 220V and 0.682A of applied voltage and current, respectively. It was satisfied the certification criteria for Ex nR explosion-proof characteristics by versatile tests such as ventilation restricted sealing test, IP66 class of ingress protection test and T6 class with surface temperature of 58.40℃. As a result of this study, prototype of 150-W LED non-sparking explosion-proof flood lighting was designed and developed to have 135lm/W of luminous efficiency and Ex nR ⅡB T6 of explosion-proof level. |
