Abstract This paper proposes a novel control method for reducing power loss on the 3-phase dual active bridge (DAB). The proposed control method is control both duty of switches and phase between primary and secondary stage simultaneously. In conventional control method, the system efficiency can be reduced because of the reactive power in the converter when the converter operating voltage is changed. This problem can be solved by adopting proposed control method by controlling constant voltage of auxiliary capacitor. The proposed control method is verified by experimental results using 10kW prototype modular power stack.
