Abstract |
In this study, we propose a household water meter box that can be used for USN monitoring system to prevent freezing of water meter in winter. The existing system uses the hot wire by winding it on the pipe of the water meter box, and there is also the risk of damage to the main part of the meter and fire accident. The proposed method has the advantage of freezing the piping and meter by heating the entire inside of the water meter by using hot air. The heating system consists of a temperature sensor, a hot air fan, and a wireless communication. A heating system is installed in the meter box and a freeze prevention algorithm is executed based on the data input from the sensor node. The frost prevention algorithm analyzes the measured temperature data to control the heating module. When the internal temperature of household water meter box is below 0℃, the heating module is operated. When the internal temperature reaches 4℃ or more, the heating module is stopped. The switch of the hot air is connected to the sensor node, and the relay switch is used for smooth ON / OFF. In order to prevent overheating, when the temperature switch is over 65℃, the contact point falls and the current is cut off. Experimental environment was experimented in two weather conditions in the case of average cold weather and cold weather, and as a result, it showed that low power can prevent the water meter from freezing. |
