Abstract |
The secondary battery may cause a fire or an explosion in an temperature condition not accompanied by a change in current, and this is a serious human injury due to a danger occurring during use of the portable electronic device. Therefore, a current control protector is required for the temperature rise of the secondary battery during the used, and the resettable protection device using the bi-metal is superior in operating speed and temperature sensitivity as compared with the generally applied PTC device. This study is to design the structure of the Fe-36wt%Ni invar alloy and the thermally expanded pure metal material of the bi-metal resettable fuse to secure the safety of the electronic device applying the secondary battery. Experimental results show that it's possible to realize various operating characteristics at the desired temperature by adjusting the thickness of silver and copper bonded to the invar alloy by plating, and it's confirmed that the temperature and micro current of the secondary battery accident can be prevented. |
