Abstract |
An electric vehicle (EV) is one of the promising alternatives to serious environmental problems. Many countries around the world have already started research and development of EV. Particularly in China, EV sales have shown a rapid growth under the strong support of the government's policy. The Chinese testing organization has established a testing and certification system for EVs that strengthens the criteria for promoting the EV market. In Korea, on the other hand, the criteria for EV certification are being standardized but have not been sufficiently reviewed. Accordingly, this study explains why the certification and electric drive systems for EVs need to be rigorously standardized, and analyzes commercialization, the certification procedure for market entry, testing criteria, and standards in China, where EVs have a high market share. The results of the case study in this paper are expected to contribute to dynamic EV markets both at home and abroad. |
