Abstract |
ANSI limits the range of white light color coordinates for each color temperature using MacAdam ellipses and ANSI quadrangles, and some lighting manufacturers designate a MacAdam ellipses step to reduce the difference in white light color coordinates among the luminaires that they manufacture. Accordingly, this study was conducted for luminaire manufacturers and consumers to better understand and utilize the basic concepts, drawing methods, and various characteristics of MacAdam ellipses and ANSI quadrangles. The analysis results were that the characteristics of color discrimination, indistinguishable color range, isotemperature range and visual stimulus were different according to MacAdam ellipses steps. |
