Abstract |
This study presented the impact of soil discharge on the ground surface potential rise under impulse voltage using a cylindricality scaled-model. Experimental results in this paper were based on a laboratory measurements simulating the actual field. The waveforms of the ground surface potential rise and the injected current were observed in the parameter of distance from the grounding rod and soil resistivity. The results highlighted the fact that ground surface potential rise decreased gradually with the distance from the grounding rod and increased with the soil resistivity. Also, V-I curves and R-t curves were analyzed and showed the change of transient soil resistance due to ground surface potential rise and soil ionization. |
