Abstract |
For the magnetron, gyrotron and electron beam welder, which is the applications of the technology applying high voltage to thermal electrons, the power supply is required to heat filament for emission of thermal electrons. This paper describes the design of filament power supply, whose maximum output voltage is 17 V and maximum output current is 10 A based on the series resonant converter(SRC) operating in discontinuous conduction mode(DCM). The design and operating characteristics were verified by the PSPICE simulation and experimental results with resistor load. Also experimental results with a simulated load, which simulates characteristic of filament load whose impedance increases with increasing temperature, confirmed characteristics of the current source that has a constant output current on the fluctuated load condition. |
