Abstract |
The phantom array effect is a type of Temporal Light Artifact(TLA). Recently, as LED lighting is widely used in automotive lighting as well as general lighting, a phenomenon related to this has been dealt with importance. Recently, it has been reported that a phantom array effect can be detected even at high-speed flashing frequency above 11kHz. This study extends the experiment from a white LED source to color LEDs to find out the chromatic difference of the visibility of the phantom array effect. From the results of the second experiment on the visibility of the phantom array effect from 1kHz to 11kHz in 1kHz steps using 10 university students, the visibility threshold frequency of the phantom array effect is in order of Red?Green>White>Blue. This experimental result shows that the phantom array effect of color LEDs can be detectable at high-speed flashing light of 11kHz, and that the critical threshold frequency varies depending on the color of the LED light source. |
