Abstract |
Stator winding insulation may deteriorate when the generator is operated under an environment of thermal, electrical, or mechanical stress. In addition, the pumped storage power plant generator may be effected by the deterioration mechanism of the stator winding due to frequent start/stops or long-term operation; however, there are few research studies on deterioration tendencies in accordance with operational characteristics such as the number of start/stops and period of operation. In this research, we used online diagnosis for the generators of different the number of start/stops and periods of operation. As a result, internal discharge was the main pattern of deterioration for generators of fewer than 20 years of operation, and equipment of over 15 years of operation tended to display slot discharge and discharge of slot ends as its main pattern of deterioration. |
