Abstract |
Recently, policies such as expansion of distributed power sources, and transition to electric vehicles are being promoted to reduce carbon dioxide. Most distributed power sources generate DC power, so when the direct current system is activated, it is effective in many aspects, including power loss reduction, grid connection efficiency, and economic feasibility. As a DC system protection plan is required according to the grounding system, the fault detection method for Pole to Ground Fault is very important. In this paper, we propose a technique using DWT (Discrete Wavelet Transform) for Pole to Ground Fault detection by leakage current in DC distribution system with IT ground system. First, after modeling the IT grounding DC distribution system using PSCAD s/w, Pole to Ground fault simulation is performed while varying the fault point and fault resistance. After implementing the proposed fault detection using MATLAB s/w, the performance is verified by comparing the proposed technique with the traditional technique through insulation resistance measurement. |
