Abstract The Gichuk Jinchan of 1829, held during the third year of Crown Prince Hyomyeong's regency, featured an inner banquet centered around Jagyeongjeon Hall. The king's throne and the side table were placed in the east room of the hall, while the crown prince's seat was relocated to Bogye, expanding his space at the expense of the royal women's area. This arrangement likely facilitated the crown prince's view of Jeongjae performances at Bogye and streamlined his ceremonial movements, such as bowing. Renovations at Jagyeongjeon focused on areas like the Daecheong, Ondol, and Toekan. A side table was added in the Donghaenggak for the crown prince, and the size of his small carriage was increased. A path from the carriage to Jagyeongmun Gate was constructed in a wing-like form, emphasizing the crown prince's movement process and reflecting royal authority. The Baekmokjang in Bogye was upgraded to Hwangmokjang, and a Hongjeongjugapjang curtain was added to the main hall, symbolizing enhanced status compared to previous banquets. Notable changes to ceremonial attire included the Crown Prince’s Jiui and Yuksok transitioning from Chaehwajiui to Jajeokjuyuksok, while the Crown Princess’ Yuksok was downgraded to black, underscoring the Crown Prince’s political and Confucian rank. The Sipjangsaeng Folding Screen, symbolizing the king, was placed in the Crown Prince's Ikilhoejak, indirectly affirming his political authority. Although the Gichuk Jinchan ostensibly marked the 30th anniversary of King Sunjo’s ascension, its stage design and arrangements primarily highlighted Crown Prince Hyomyeong's rising political stature in his third year of governance. The banquet ultimately positioned him as the central figure of the event. Keywords: Joseon, Royal family, Banquet, Gichujinchan, Royal Stsge, Repair, Installation.
