Abstract |
China’s Scenic and Historic Interest Areas system plays a key role in safeguarding natural and cultural landscapes. This study examines
recent changes in the administrative system and their impact on cultural landscape protection. It explores the connection between these areas
and cultural landscapes through case studies of sites designated as World Heritage Cultural Landscapes, focusing on legal frameworks and
conservation practices. Additionally, it reviews China’s Tentative List to identify future trends in the designation of Cultural Landscapes. The
findings offer valuable insights for Korea’s efforts to achieve World Heritage Cultural Landscape status for its scenic sites. |
