Abstract |
This study focuses on improving the insulation and soundproofing performance of PVC turning doors used in the External Unit Rooms of
apartment buildings. To enhance these properties, thermal analysis and in-house soundproofing tests were conducted, considering various
influencing factors. The results were then verified through testing by an accredited institution. Thermal analysis revealed that the final model,
with improved insulation, increased the indoor corner temperature by 3.4°C compared to the existing model. In the soundproofing test, the
enhanced model showed an improvement of 5 dB in Rw+C over the existing model. Tests conducted by the accredited institution confirmed
that the final product met insulation standards for the first region of the central area, which faces direct external air, as well as the
condensation standard for region 1. Additionally, soundproofing performance improved to Rw+C 30 dB, an increase of 5 dB over the
previous model. The door developed in this study is expected to maintain its insulation performance for the first region in the central area
and condensation region 1, even with the grill open during winter. It also ensures that the WHO's recommended indoor noise levels are met,
even in environments with high-noise equipment. |
