Abstract |
Currently, most of low luminous intensity B-type LED aviation obstruction lights use fresnel lenses which make manufacturing difficult and increase production costs. Also, aviation obstruction lights are burdensome due to continuous lighting operation through days and nights, which may have a negative impact on long-term energy savings. In this study, optical system is designed with an emphasis on manufacturing characteristic improvement and power consuming reduction of a low luminous intensity B-type aviation obstruction light. In addition, optimal single-reflector type optical system is proposed in composition of a single LED-package and a conical reflector, comparing and analyzing both optical performances and mechanical characteristics. |
