Abstract |
Energy consumers can reduce electricity charges in time-of-use rate environment by smart energy consumption. Especially, energy prosumers who have renewable energy sources and battery energy storage system(ESS) can maximize the profit by proper battery management. This paper proposes an optimal battery charge/discharge scheduling method using linear programming(LP). In this paper, all the possible power flow routes among commercial power, PV generation, battery and load are specified as decision variables not to miss any possibility; there are no integer variables. And, practical constraints such as battery energy continuity, battery power and energy limit and power purchase limit are faithfully considered to get reliable scheduling results. The variables and constraints in LP are explained in detail for further study. In the case study, the effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed method are verified by applying to a realistic problem. |
