| Abstract |
Variable Message Signs(VMS) refers to traffic safety facilities installed on roads to facilitate traffic communication and safety to road users by providing real-time information on traffic flow situations or emergency traffic accidents in front of roads. The most important technical element in road signage is the expression method for road users to recognize the various display information provided at the front of the road sign more easily and clearly. This method of information expression classifies text, diagram, pictogram and a mixture of these elements. In this paper, it conducts a preference survey of the way Variable Message Signs are displayed, and proposes an optimal methods to reflect the results. |
