Abstract |
The problems of AC arc faults were high randomness and distortion, which caused the fires and damages of the electric circuits. Two types of arc detection method were suggested as the countermeasure using the difference of current and higher frequency waveform. Normal and arc current were compared to detect the arc in time domain algorithm. In frequency domain, fast fourier transform (FFT) was used to extract the harmonic components. The AC arc fault experiments in low voltage were proceed with references to the UL1699 and IEC62606 standard. Arc detection methods were applied under different types of loads to lead various results. The threshold values were discussed by the testing loads in experiments. The arc was detected when the difference of the current or high frequency waveform exceeded the threshold. |
